James Dondero spent almost ten years of his early career life-building experience before finally venturing into an entrepreneurship journey. Today James holds an accumulated 30 years of experience, enabling him to become a reliable leader in various organizations.

One of the organizations he is renowned for is his company Highland Capital Management, a company he founded in 1993. Under the leadership of CEO James Dondero, Highland Capital is a leader in the Credit and Equity Markets, especially the Collateralized Loan Obligation market. The company is a holder of products that have gained recognition on many platforms. Some of these products are Hedge Funds, Mutual Funds, ETFs, etc.

James Dondero has been a dedicated individual from the time he began his career. For this reason, he had a chance to work with several organizations in crucial roles. The Morgan Guaranty Training Program is the first place that ushered James into his long, eventful, and successful career. In 1985 just under a year after joining the program, he joined American Express, an institution that played a significant role in his career growth.

Between 1989 and 1993, James Dondero achieved a very significant milestone in his young career. He became the brain behind the growth of the Protective Life subsidiary GIC. By the time he left the company in 1993, he had already helped it grow to over $2 billion in assets.

James’ achievements have been in various aspects of his life, especially his academic life. He is a holder of the highest honors in Accounting and Financing.
